Learn How to Do Meal Prep!
There really is no right or wrong way to learn how to meal prep. The point of meal prepping is to make life simpler for you throughout the week, but this doesn’t mean that you have to precook all of your food at one time! For example, you can marinate chicken breasts, freeze them, and then take them out of the freezer when you want to cook them. The same principle can be applied to burgers, etc. Another example is to prepare large batches of your favorite sauces and freeze the leftovers, rather than making smaller batches.
If you prefer for your vegetables to be freshly cooked, then you can portion them for each meal and place them in food containers until you are ready to cook them. Likewise, if you plan on making a meal that requires a good bit of chopping, go ahead and prepare these ingredients. You can portion the nuts and wash the fruits that you plan on using for healthy snacks, so that they’ll be ready to go when you’re on the run. It is recommended that you go ahead and prepare healthy carbohydrates, like brown rice, quinoa, and whole meal pasta upfront, as these tend to be among the most time consuming ingredients to prepare.
When it comes to learning how to meal prep, the most important thing you can do is to make foods that you enjoy! Don’t be afraid to experiment with different flavors, particularly with dressings, marinades, and spices. You are strongly encouraged to incorporate as much variety into your diet as you can, so you don’t become bored eating the same thing day in and day out.
Meal prepping is simple, and the number of benefits it has to offer are enormous, so get started today!
